Sam GeppiDecember 2014 and January 2015 are both months of inspiration and connection to purpose. They feature several alignments with exalted Jupiter, exalted Mars, and the cycle of Sagittarius. This will be an excellent time to refocus on what inspires us, then commit to “making it so.” It is one of the best New Year’s forecasts I’ve done in a while.

December 6

Family, friends, and stabilizing emotions will be important with the Full Moon in Taurus. This Full Moon is in contrast to the Sun in Scorpio, a placement of transformation, and insecurities being strengthened. Now is the time to balance drama and emotional transformation with stability and peace. Jupiter aspecting the Sun introduces inspiration, teachings, and Guru’s grace into the mix.

This Full Moon happens in Rohini Nakshatra, ruled by Lord Brahma, the creator. Gatherings with friends and family, with a creative element, can be grounding and peaceful for the next couple of weeks.

December 10 – 11

Inspiration and connection continues when the Moon in Cancer joins exalted Jupiter and is aspected by exalted Mars. Now is a great time for you to step up as a teacher, and to put your teachings into practice. Exalted Jupiter shows uplifting messages from teachers. Exalted Mars shows the desire to work hard to put them into practice. All of these possibilities are right now.

December 21

A new 30-day cycle of spiritual teaching and inspiration begins with the New Moon in Sagittarius. This next month is a great time to focus on things bigger than just worldly concerns. A sense of meaning and purpose may take priority over people, family, money, and the typical sundries of life. There may also be an element of travel and adventure. Be on the lookout for important messages and people that inspire you.

This new moon happens in Mula Nakshatra, related to the Goddess Kali. The power to destroy darkness and plant uplifting seeds of truth is indicated.

December 27 – 31

Action aligned with higher purpose is supported when Jupiter in Cancer aspects Mars in Capricorn. Now is a great time to “walk the talk.” Notice how in alignment you are with things such as diet, exercise, and putting into practice what you preach. Being more disciplined and getting stronger will be inspiring now.

January 4, 2015

Emotional playfulness, communication, and curiosity will be important on the Full Moon in Gemini. This Full Moon is in contrast to the Sagittarius cycle. Questioning our teachers and trying to give voice to our beliefs will occupy our attention now. Suddenly you may be asking “why,” like a curious child. Don’t be afraid to question the most sacred of beliefs. Gemini is the sign that systematically dismantles the tyranny of dogmatism.

This Full Moon happens in the Nakshatra of Punarvasu, ruled by the divine mother goddess Aditi. Enormous skill and creativity exist here.

January 15-18

Beauty and romance will predominate when Venus in Capricorn is aspected by Jupiter in Cancer. This could be a time to work through romantic difficulties, especially if your partnership has a common spiritual focus or direction. If it doesn’t, you may feel a deep disappointment in your relationship, and long for another. There is a lot of creativity and devotion possible now, but also romantic disappointment and inner conflict around worldly forms of beauty.

January 22

A new cycle of ambition and commitment begins with the New Moon in Capricorn. After the inspiration of Sagittarius, we have the commitment of Capricorn. We need to take our teachings and principles out of the ether and bring them into tangible form now. The willingness to sacrifice short-term gains for long-term priorities will be at the forefront. There may be an awareness of consequences or mistakes from the past. We must see those as learning experiences, rather than as things that inhibit us from making positive progress. Jupiter’s aspect brings hope through this process.

This New Moon happens in Uttara Ashada Nakshatra, ruled by the Vishwa devas, the universal gods. This shows the need to honor that which we know to be right and put it into practice. Once we do this, victory is assured.
