Yogis and Yoginis interested in an eclectic mix of songs to dance to and meditate on will find Elixir: Songs of the Radiance Sutras an album that blends 10 songs into a mix of melodies that will inspire ecstatic dance, sensual expression, and meditative movements.

A collaboration between Dave Stringer, Donna De Lory, Joni Allen, and Lorin Roche, Elixir is inspired by The Radiance Sutras, Dr Roche’s interpretation of the Vijñana Bhairava Tantra—a yoga philosophy text that is set up as a conversation between the masculine Shiva and his feminine Shakti. This ancient text, meant to teach meditation and centering techniques, includes practices that are used to bring about breath awareness, awareness of nonduality (the oneness of all things), and meditation on each of the senses. Elixir provides music and vibration to complement these techniques.

With Sanskrit chants infused with English lyrics, each of the songs on Elixir—or the album in its entirety—brings you on the Shiva/Shakti journey of the masculine and feminine—uniting and balancing the dualistic experiences of this life.

In particular, “Skin” reminds us of the illusion of separation and how by allowing for these opposite energies within and around us to dance and play, we create ease and reduce suffering through our own strength and awareness. Enjoy the dance!
