February begins under a Full Moon characterized by entangled energy that requires us to maintain our focus. Mid-month, the fog lifts when Mercury goes direct in Capricorn, supporting greater organization and clarity. At the end of the month, the exalted Moon in Taurus supports happiness and emotional peace.
February 2 and 3
Balancing practicality with pure feeling will be important when the Moon becomes full in Cancer. This Full Moon happens at the midway point in the Capricorn cycle, a 30-day period of organizing our life and practical concerns, including money. At this time, we must be careful not to turn people into commodities. Expect irrational outbursts and demands from loved ones on February 2 and 3, which will sensitize you to a more cold and rational part of yourself. This Full Moon is joined retrograde Jupiter, which may show us going against our teachings and beliefs at this time.
This Full Moon happens in Aslesha Nakshatra, the star of entwining; it is a time when we may get tangled up in desires which runs the risk of blinding us to the selfless love in our heart; if we can connect to our selfless love, we can connect to the deeper promise of this Cancer Full Moon.
February 5 and 6
A lot of fiery intensity will be present with the Moon in Leo aspected by Saturn in Scorpio and Mars and Venus in Aquarius. There could be some power struggles, especially romantic ones. Mars and Venus joined in Aquarius bring together two competing desires: self-assertion and compromise. Expect a bit of a standoff now, as well as the temptation to revisit old wounds. Stay focused on the bigger picture and on themes larger than your own precious self-respect.
February 7 through 13
Expect to come face-to-face with feelings of insecurity, fear, and control when the Moon passes through the signs of Virgo, Libra, and Scorpio. At this time the Moon joins Rahu in Virgo, then is hemmed-in between Rahu and Saturn, then joins Saturn (where it is also debilitated). You may be confronted with fears both real and imagined and your interpretation of them is key this week. Greater peace and compassion exists just beneath the surface of these volatile fears.
February 11
You may feel the fog lifting, with improved communication and intelligence when Mercury turns direct (after being retrograde since January 21). This retrograde cycle happened in Capricorn, the sign of organizing your life into a practical structure based on what inspires you the most. With Mercury now moving forward, there will be more clarity about the adjustments you need to make, and the best way to communicate these to others in your life. It is also a good time to resume any writing projects and all forms of communication.
February 16 and 17
Make a practical assessment of resources, people, and energy with the Moon in Capricorn joined Mercury, and aspected by Jupiter and Saturn. The combination of hope and vision (Jupiter), intelligence (Mercury), and the willingness to let go of what’s not working (Saturn) will be influencing your mind and consciousness. Pay close attention to your instincts about what to commit to at this time.
February 18
A new 30-day cycle of service and commitment to things larger than your personal inspirations (Leo) begins on the New Moon in Aquarius. Aquarius is the sign where your separate ego merges with collective causes and where you understand that the world does not revolve around you. The more it does, the more you suffer. Pay close attention to this theme for the next 30 days and look for opportunities to serve. In so doing, you will also connect to a higher version of yourself, where your problems seem less important.
This New Moon is found in Dhanishta Nakshatra, a place of wealth and creativity. It is an open secret that those who help the most people also prosper the most financially.
February 20 and 21
Creativity and mysticism are important when the Moon enters Pisces and joins Venus, Mars, and Ketu. Pisces is the sign where we connect to the metaphysical. We can do this in many ways, such as creating art or music. We can also do it through spiritual practices and meditation. We can also do it through alcohol and drugs. Make a good choice now.
February 25 and 26
Happiness and emotional peace are easy to come by when the Moon occupies Taurus, where it is exalted. Now, the restless emotional waters rest on the solid, fixed ground of Taurus. Enjoy life, your family, and eventually the peace in your own heart now.
