Playlist Yoga features upbeat, pumping music as the foundation for each class.
Owner Jordan Cohen’s philosophy is that, “Music has the power to connect, communicate, and motivate. Our classes are set to carefully curated playlists selected by our instructors and resident DJ.”
As you walk into the location, you are greeted with a big blue neon sign, “Started From Savasana Now We’re Here,” and a simple, minimalistic vibe. The lockers are labeled with names of musical artists, continuing the theme of a music-driven space. Inside the studio, you’ll find lyrics to Eminem’s hit song “Lose Yourself” written across the main wall. The gray floor by Zebra Mats is cushioned (no hardwood here) with each mat space labeled. A unique and convenient feature the ability to book your mat space when you sign up for class online. The lighting is dim for ambience and the instructors generally wear a microphone so they can crank up the music.

CYO (Chief Yoga Officer) Nicole Sciacca draws upon her extensive background and passion for fitness and yoga, combined with her previous ownership of a boutique studio on Abbott Kinney to give her perspective in curating and leading this team of yogis. Music Director/Resident DJ Nikki Pennie curates a library of music and is one of the variety of local DJs partnering with teachers to offer live DJ classes.
The studio is on the corner of La Cienega and Melrose Avenues, across from Cycle House and Rise Nation — creating a trifecta for fitness lovers. Alfred Coffee is conveniently across the street, perfect for a post-class caffeine fix or cold-pressed juice. Plan ahead because street parking is scarce, but there is a $3 lot behind the studio. Be prepared to sweat, have fun, and enjoy some high-energy music. The studio is currently offering an introductory rate to first-time students of $45 for two weeks of unlimited yoga, all levels welcome.
