Good Nutrition is one of the most important steps for recovery after a race or training session. In LA YOGA’s MarchYogi Food feature, we asked some noted athletes and food experts to share their favorite smoothie and shake recipes. Blythe Metz shared her Chocolate Chia Shake:

Ingredients:

1). 1 scoop Chocolate Protein

2). 1 scoop Powdered Rice Milk

3). 1 Tbsp organic chia seeds

4). 1 Banana

5). 2 dates, pitted

6). 1 1/2 Tbsp raw cacao powder

7). 2 cups water

8). 1/2 cup ice

Directions: Remove the pits form the dates. Dates blend easier if soaked for at least 10 minutes. Place all ingredients in blender. Blend until smooth and creamy. Yields 3 cups.
