Devotional singer, Sangeeta Kaur (Teresa Mai) is now touring for her latest album Yoga is Love. Classically trained in opera at California State University Long Beach and the Boston Conservatory of Music, this angelic vocalist devotes her gift to sacred music.
Sangeeta sings in both English and Gurmukhi, making this album accessible to everyone. Her training comes through: her high notes are crystal clear, and her low tones are strong and grounding. Each song builds in energy and flow, inviting in the listener and promoting the expansion of their heart. Sangeeta’s mission to bring sacred sound and mantra into people’s lives comes through. She collaborates with composer and producer Ferenz Kallos, who was instrumental in beginning her journey of devotional music.
This body of work provides excellent selections for any movement or yoga class, or to accompany folding the laundry or mopping the floor. I frequently listened while driving around LA, and it reminded me to incorporate more yoga and love into the way I drive around the city. Imagine if everyone were in their cars rocking out to beautiful, pure mantras like Sangeeta’s? People would actually let you in as you merge onto the 405.
She will be holding a concert at RA MA Kundalini Institute in Venice, CA on July 14th at 7pm, the same studio where Sangeeta also teaches Kundalini classes.
