The track order is well thought out, establishing a smooth ride from the beginning that gently opens the heart before flowing into an upbeat dance vibe. Remixes then winds down with deep, ethereal, and soothing textures seamlessly weaving English lyrics and Sanskrit mantras for a result that is pleasing to both the senses and the soul.
“Om Namah Shivaya,” (track four) is a highlight; the tabla, drums, and bass are mega-grooving and listeners cannot help but move. Moving, it seems, must be the motivation for Remixes given Donna’s ability to dance, dance, dance. The dance vibe lays down the foundation for long jams with Donna’s angelic and breathy vocals that soar over a solid rhythm section holding down some serious beats.
Overall, this well-rounded album of mood setting, dance-worthy, and heart-opening remixes is a must-have for all Donna DeLory fans.
