The planetary configurations for the Vedic Astrology Forecast March 2018 bring up themes of creativity and passion with increased energy surrounding principles. We may also experience some confusion around life directions and teachings. Take appropriate time to become grounded in devotion, to be thorough, to question and apply critical thinking to your life and teachings, and to discover the truth. Be open to the lightning strikes of inspiration that may illuminate your path this month.
March 1
Today the Moon is full in Leo, which makes for a day of fiery emotions and passions. Many of these emotions are individualized and maybe even selfish. At this time, it is important to connect with a pure form of feeling, something more selfless. Plan an outing with friends and family during which you can share in the delight of being together with and for each other.
This Full Moon happens in the Nakshatra of Purva Phalguni, ruled by the God of delight. It is delightful to be the king, as there are many pleasures and joys that come your way. Yet the highest promise is to share that joy with others. Remember that today.
March 3
Venus and Mercury will be established in Pisces beginning today for the next several weeks. This will be a creative time, as well as a time of exalted romance and desire. But Mercury is debilitated here, so be careful about misspeaking and becoming confused about the “story” in your head.
March 7-9
The Moon is in Scorpio today, where it is debilitated. Emotions can be pretty stormy today, with jealousies and frustrations boiling over. Try to keep your head and heart pure. A creative option for managing this energy is to spend a few extra minutes on the yoga mat or in devotional practices.
March 8
Mars enters Sagittarius where it joins Saturn (also in Sagittarius) for the next couple of months. This combination supports us being fired up around our principles and inspirations. It can be a good time for putting your teachings into practice. Yet at the same time, it might also reveal some contentiousness or even hostility around those teachings.
Take care though, the energy of the Mars conjunction of Saturn may increase frustration with authority figures or existing teachers and traditions. Be careful of what you are fighting for now and make sure it is worthwhile.
March 9
Jupiter turns retrograde, which can intensify confusion about your life direction and the teachings you follow. This may lead to you feeling directionless, so you may look for simple solutions to complex problems.
For the past several months, we have been trying to connect our philosophies and beliefs with our social circle, our family, and the other people in our lives. We see this playing out culturally in the political realm and in other areas of collective humanity. Now we are revisiting these themes and we will continue to do so over the next four months.
March 17
The Sun and Moon will come together in Pisces, creating the New Moon in the early morning of March 17. This begins a 30-day cycle when creativity, romance, and spiritual evolution (Pisces themes) will be the most important. This is a time to connect with your more metaphysical self. Yet be careful not to tune out and escape from the unpleasant reality of life on earth. Instead, take this opportunity to escape from the false reality into your truthful reality.
This New Moon happens in the Nakshatra of Purva Bhadra, which is related to lightning and inspiration. The veil between worlds may be very thin now. Look for signs and signals from above to be a lightning strike of inspiration.
March 20-21
The Moon will be in Aries aspected by Jupiter. This can be an inspired time, full of purpose and action. With courage and enthusiasm, pursue what uplifts you. Be careful with impatience, especially for those who don’t agree with your vision and higher purpose. Look for allies, not just competitors.
March 22-23
Mercury turns retrograde and the Moon is exalted in Taurus today. Mercury retrograde is a time to improve our speech and communication, as well as our relationships with details and technology. If we’re sloppy in these areas, we can see the mistakes pile up when Mercury goes retrograde. The real benefit is to speak less and listen more. Slow down and be thorough. Handle those things that need to be handled, whether or not they are fun.
March 24-25
Today the Moon is in Gemini aspected by Jupiter, Mars, and Saturn. This makes for the generation of a lot of ideas, while also running the risk of intellectual overload. You will feel like you are exploding with ingenuity and new ways to do things. At the same time, be careful with erratic and destructive speech, especially because Mercury is now retrograde. Try to channel your ideas into something inspiring.
March 30
The Moon will be full in Virgo in the early morning today. This is opposite the Sun in Pisces. The Full Moon brings a more practical and down-to-earth emotional state to the ungrounded and metaphysical Pisces cycle that I mentioned earlier. It is important to balance the creative, emotional qualities of Pisces with the practical and down-to-earth nature of Virgo. With this aspect, notice how you may be a little fussy over the neglected details.
This Full Moon happens in the Nakshatra of Hasta, which literally means “hand.” This is a very pragmatic section of the sky. Here we are able to take what we imagine and bring it into a tangible form.
