Soil for a groundbreaking new garden has been tilled on the campus of the California College of Ayurveda. Home to the first Ayurvedic teaching herb garden, the soil in Northern California will be known, for at least the next 3 years, as the “ORGANIC INDIA Herb Garden” thanks to the company’s $10,000 commitment towards the outdoor garden and classroom. ORGANIC INDIA, the herb and tea company created the garden as a show of support for Ayurvedic education and the promotions of herbs as medicine. The garden, designed as a mandala with a water feature at center point, consists of 8 large beds that will host between 500 and 100 different medicinal plants within. Students who attend the program will have the opportunity to grow, pick, and learn the variety of ways to prepare the medicines including herbal salves, oils, and ghees.

Dr. Marc Halpern, President of the California College of Ayurveda, expressed, “I am so happy that ORGANIC INDIA has stepped up to support ayurvedic education in the United States. It is important that companies who are aligned with ayurveda and herbalism support education.”

ORGANIC INDIA, a leading company in humanitarian efforts, is headquartered in Lucknow, India. The company supports sustainable family farming and pays premium market prices for the herbs in all of their products, in addition to providing healthcare and supporting education for the farmers and their families.
