Hope For Paws To The Rescue

The nonprofit Hope for Paws is one of the compassionate organizations in the greater LA area who provides active rescue, kennel-free open space, medical care, and love to neglected, abused and homeless animals. Founders Audrey Spilker Hagar and Eldad Hagar have rescued hundreds of often ill or injured dogs, cats and other creatures (including owls), healing them back to life then finding them loving homes.

Eldad uses knowledge gained during his military service when he sets off on an often dangerous animal rescue, since these animals may have been subject to frequent abuse and don’t readily trust humans. But with a car readily stocked with medical supplies, flashlights and a map, no mission is mission-impossible.

The current economic situation has led to record numbers of dog dumping, and Audrey and Eldad are on a mission to ease the pain. With their just-released book, Our Lives Have Gone to the Dogs, they are seeking to educate people about pet responsibility and the importance of foster care. Our Lives is filled with heart-warming rescue photos and success stories of animals brought back to health after neglect. A gracious donor gifted the cost of publication, allowing all of the proceeds to support costs of rescuing and caring for animals. Eldad and Audrey have a no-cage, no-kennel policy for their rescues and the animals become part of their family, a reminder that we are all part of this global family, animals and people alike. For more information, visit: hopeforpaws.org.

I love my new family! Hope for Paws taught me to be loved, cleaned me up, and helped me find adoptive parents. Thank you Eldad and Audrey.
