The metamorphosis of the HB Yoga Collective is a homecoming for many like me who started their practice in this space when it was called Yoga Place and then when it was YogaWorks. Now a group of new owners—supported by a community who provided startup capital, workmanship, and locally sourced goods—have created a warm, welcoming environment with classes that include yoga, meditation, Tai Chi, Pilates, strength training, and ELDOA spinal opening.
For the women with the vision, this union felt like destiny. Kori Strobl, a beloved teacher (with a masters in Spiritual Psychology) met Nicolette David (a former high school English and Biology teacher) and became her mentor in the Yogaworks 300-hour teacher training. They came together with Shina Chen (Ayurvedic practitioner and owner of Rasa Eats).
Complemented by their husbands: Jeremy Stobl, who constructed most of the interior decor, Jason Amstutz, a chiropractor teaching spinal therapy and myofascial stretching, and Nick Lekas whose experience in finance builds the business’ backbone. “We are all in love with our community, our teachers, and each other. As friends this has been a fun and creative adventure that has brought us all closer. We feed off each other’s strengths and learn from each other every day,” says Kori of her partners. “We are committed to all that is yoga, not just asana. We offer meditation classes, kirtan, and philosophy featuring such renowned teachers as Dr John Casey,” shares Nicolette.
The location has been transformed from the ground up. starting with a community gathering where we penciled in drawings and affirmations on the barren walls, which are now covered by soothing hues, reclaimed grey wood, and lovely sconces. Everything in the retail boutique has been selected to include local artisans, printmakers, homemade products, and consciously chosen organic foods and pristine alkaline water.
I recommend this studio to all of my friends; there is something here for everyone, with creative pricing starting at just $69/month. You just can’t leave this studio untouched by the sincere and heartfelt outpouring of LOVE from the owners.
