Each Class is a Journey

Sattva Yoga LA opened its doors in Brentwood in March, making it the first Sattva Yoga studio in the U.S.—a home for beginner and experienced yogis to experience an authentic, inclusive, non-competitive, and energetic yoga practice.

Brittny McCarthy and Kendra Horn (co-owners, managers, and Sattva Yoga teachers) serendipitously met on a trip to India to study with Sattva Yoga founder Anand Mehrotra. Their hope is to create a community in Los Angeles where people can find a sense of purpose. McCarthy says, “The practice helps us transform on an individual level—which creates transformation on the collective level.”  Each Sattva Yoga class offers a complete practice including asana, pranayama, kriya, meditation, free movement, and wisdom.

In addition to weekly classes, Sattva Yoga LA will offer workshops, dance classes, and evenings of music and kirtan.  Horn says, “Music inspires, motivates, and contributes to the shift people experience when they do yoga.” The duo are inspired and honored to offer a place for creative expression and a spiritual practice.

The community will hold a Grand Opening Celebration on Sunday, May 5 (open to all). They are thrilled to welcome their teacher, Anand Mehrotra, to the studio this July for a workshop series on meditation, wisdom, and Tantra Yoga.
