Every once in a while you hear a song that you instantly love. The first time I heard Apologize, by OneRepublic, it was clear there was something special about this band. No surprise — Apologize went on to break airplay records worldwide.
OneRepublic has also experienced success with their singles, Good Life, All the Right Moves, Secrets, Stop and Stare, Feel Again and their latest song If I Lose Myself. You can expect more since their new album, Native, will be released March 26.
Lead singer Ryan Tedder is also one of today’s hottest Top 40 producers and songwriters. Along with writing all the music for OneRepublic, some of his other hits include Beyonce’s Halo, Kelly Clarkson’s Already Gone, Leona Lewis’s Bleeding Love, and two of Adele’s recent songs, Turning Tables and Rumor Has It.
I had the privilege of being on OneRepublic’s management team in the early stages of their career and spent a lot of quality time traveling with them, so I know first-hand the band’s emphasis on a healthy lifestyle.
Here is an inside look:
While they are traveling, Ryan Tedder keeps up his exercise routine. If it’s warm outside, he loves to run. “The best way to see a city is by foot and we always stay in an interesting part of town,” says Tedder. “Whether it’s Berlin, Denmark, Paris, or Dallas, I like to explore the city while I get my cardio exercise.” If it’s cold outside, he likes the Insanity Fit Test, which includes a lot of high intensity jumping, push-ups, high kicks, plank, and other similar poses.
Guitar player Zach Filkins shares his favorite power breakfast which includes:
Scrambled eggs, mixed with egg whites
Oatmeal (Zach always packs instant oatmeal when they are traveling.)
