Vedic Astrology June 2017 Sunrise

A number of stress-inducing configurations in Vedic Astrology June 2017 require us to develop greater understanding of ourselves and to increase our ability to cultivate self-control. A predominant theme is to continue to connect with devotion and love and to allow those emotional states to fuel our actions. Have courage and practice the art of intelligent awareness.

June 2-4
The Moon is in Virgo with Retrograde Jupiter, which brings with it greater inspiration, hope and purpose. It is a great time to reflect on your teachers and their teachings. You may notice that you experience a technical, and perhaps even fussy, nature with those things that inspire you. Let this feeling motivate you to develop a greater understanding of those things and ideals that you believe in.

June 7-8
The Moon will be in Scorpio, which shows some emotional intensity, as well as the potential for being reactive and maybe even paranoid. Instead of indulging those feelings, channel that energy into greater discipline and devotion. Look for opportunities to gain more control over yourself, rather than succumb to irrational fear and worry because you have no control over others or situations.

June 9
Today we have the Full Moon in Scorpio. This Full Moon is opposite the Sun in Taurus and represents a time when we’re trying to balance the structure and stability of Taurus with the need to embrace change and emotional dynamism, as shown in Scorpio. However, be careful not to just cycle through needless drama. This tendency for jealousy, drama, and getting triggered emotionally must be watched. Use the intensity you feel to go deep into your heart, in the direction of greater devotion and love.

This Full Moon happens in the Nakshatra of Jyeshta, which is ruled by Lord Indra. There is an emotional heroism and courage possible now, along with a greater probability of emotional battles that may derail you.

June 9
Jupiter ceases his retrograde motion today which allows us to start moving forward with things that inspire us. For the past several months we may have seen our teachings and inspirations grind to a halt to some extent. This may have allowed us to reflect on our teachings, but at the same time we did not progress as quickly through them. Now is the time to start putting into practice some of those hard-won lessons, especially as they relate to your spiritual inspirations and practices.

June 10-16
We have a stressful week ahead with Moon either joined Saturn or the South Node—or hemmed between them. This configuration has been occurring every month since the end of January, so we have been experiencing this stressful energetic week often this year. At this time, we may experiences sensations such as grief and heaviness, and an awareness of consequences looming over our actions and our heart. Mistakes from the past may haunt us. Take responsibility for your mistakes, rather than remaining stuck in your old justifications.

June 17-18
The Moon will be in Pisces opposite Jupiter in Virgo, which can bring creativity and mysticism, simultaneously rooted in practical methodology and routines. This is a good time to take those things that inspire you and bring them into tangible form. For example, writing that poem, finishing that song, or completing that creative project. It may also be a time of romance and connection to partners.

June 21
Retrograde Saturn returns to Scorpio today until October 26, which will have us revisiting much of the same stressful energy that dominated most of 2016. Saturn in Scorpio can create inner and outer structures based more on fear, control, and domination – both of people and circumstances. For the next several months we must be careful to use this energy wisely. Rather than try to control others for outer circumstances, we need to control our self and our own state of mind.

June 23
The Sun and Moon will join today, with a New Moon in Gemini. This will begin a 30-day cycle of flexibility, communication, and finding alternative answers to life situations. Much of those answers come through experimentation, curiosity, and playfulness. Now is the time to be intelligent about your life, rather than just reacting in a programmed way based on your past or your strong opinions and tendencies.

This New Moon happens in Ardra Nakshatra, ruled by Lord Shiva, the God of change and destruction. There offers a great opportunity to change and transform your mistakes through intelligent action. Have the courage to adjust to life, based on new circumstances.

June 28-29
The Moon will be in Leo now with Rahu, aspected by Saturn. This is time when we are focusing a lot on our own individuality, and may get into power struggles with other individuals. The relationship of Rahu makes for some erratic displays of personal will. The aspect of Saturn brings some stress and pressure. Don’t try to prove anything to anyone now. Instead, just shine your own light as brightly as possible.
