Sometimes a t-shirt is far more than a piece of fabric, or an item of clothing. There are times when a t-shirt can become a powerful statement, a wearable Karma Yoga of activism. This is certainly the case for the line Revenge Is…
While the name itself is a bit of a mind-stopper, it asks us to remember that changing our lives for the better is the best revenge when faced with the possibility of succumbing to anger; positivity is the best antidote to the forces of fear, division, doubt and despair surrounding us; and living well is the best revenge to counteract anything in need of a positive shift. For Revenge Is founder Marilyn Barrett, making activism fashionable is the best revenge against fashion that is anything but beneficial for the planet.
For this reason, Barrett, an attorney, has devised a line made from organic cotton and recycled plastic bottles, with messages that proclaim All Love is Equal, emphasize Saving the Rainforest and Saving the Earth. Launched this fall, the newest line of t-shirts proudly features animals that are unfortunately endangered. Far better than wearing leopard fur – for the leopard and for the person – is wearing the charismatic face of a snow leopard printed on a t-shirt with water-based inks that was spun from organic cotton and recycled plastic bottles and made in the USA.
Snow leopards, giant pandas, red wolves, Bengal tigers, slender-horned gazelles, Grevy zebras and African elephants adorn these soft t-shirts, which remind us of the beauty of these exquisite creatures, make a statement about where we stand on animal issues and raise money for animal conservation efforts. Barrett is making a bold statement through Revenge Is…and she invites others to unite for fashionable activism. For more information on the endangered species t-shirts, visit: revengeis.com.
