The Enlightened Entrepreneur

Yoga and business are one in the same. Go with me for a second. In Yoga, you show up, work hard, sweat, challenge yourself, get pissed off at the teacher, realize that it’s your own stuff, move through your resistance and then settle into a still space and reap the rewards of your actions.

In business, you show up, work hard, put in sweat equity, challenge yourself, get pissed off at your customers and employees, realize that it’s your own stuff, move through your resistance, achieve results and then reap the rewards of your actions.

And after coaching so many conscious entrepreneurs on how to create a business that’s on-purpose, in service and making money, I realized something profound: Yogi’s can be the absolute best entrepreneurs on the planet…if you can own that you are in business to make money.

Yup, the focus of your business is to make money.

You see, people from all over the world come to my events with a deep burning desire to make a powerfully positive difference in the world, and yet they resist making money like the plague. And unfortunately, it’s that very same resistance to money that is preventing you from making the greatest impact and sharing your gifts in the most profound way.

Why?

Because a successful business is the vehicle for your service, and without any money flowing through your business, you’re service work is being severely compromised by your lack of resources. Because let’s face it, you need employees, partners, computers, materials, coaches and a bunch of other unexpected costs to manifest your vision into a living, breathing reality.

It takes big money to run a big vision. Acknowledge it. You’re willingness to embrace this fact is your ticket to actually making a big difference on this planet. This is all just a game, after all, and part of the game is the gathering of resources. Once you get this step down, the other pieces start moving with a lot more ease and flow.

If you see yourself as a visionary that strives to help the world transform and evolve, use this simple exercise to begin to shift your relationship with money right now so that you can do the work you were brought here to do.

Step 1: Write down the good, the bad and the ugly about everything you believe around money, marketing, sales and business.
Step 2: Write down all the ways that these beliefs might have impacted your current financial
state.
Step 3: Write down what you really want for your business, and what you would do if more money were flowing through your life.
Step 4: Focus on this perspective and take one action immediately that reflects your new money beliefs, like investing in a new program, hiring a new coach or buying a new computer.

Now go forth and prosper.
